By providing specialty turnkey solutions to contractors requiring hyperbaric equipment, personnel and commercial diving services NUC has become a preferred international provider.
We have experienced supervisory personnel and a full complement of experienced and qualified Compressed Air Workers, Dive Medical Technicians, Hyperbaric Nurses, Hyperbaric Physician Assistants and other specialty personnel. NUC has staffed, equipped and managed hundred of compressed air interventions for all major tunneling contractors and municipalities.
Consultation and Acquisition of OSHA Variances:
We will provide you with onsite inspections of your facilities to ensure your compliance with applicable local and federal regulations. NUC can also assist with:
• Formulating project Hyperbaric Manual (Air, Mixed Gas or Saturation Mode)
• Obtaining variances for alternate tables
• Mixed gas and saturation intervention work, etc.
• Data Analysis
• Client Liaison
• Occupational Health and Safety Implementation
• Advice on Airlock System Design
• Audit/Appraisal
• Environmental Controls
• Training of Client Personnel
• Hazard / Health & Safety Analysis
This will include developing variances for equipment, saturation storage depths, decompression tables and emergency protocols. The quality of the operations manual will be a crucial factor in obtaining the required variances.
Wet (Slurry) Diving Interventions:
NUC only employs the most experienced commercial divers to perform wet, slurry and Bentonite diving operations. Our commercial divers are all trained by ADCE commercial diving schools and are journeyman level tradesmen. NUC can provide underwater construction services for the following tasks:
• Special Bentonite dive tables
• Jack Pack / Block Out Entry and Clean-out
• Installation of rods into lenton fittings (Zero Visibility)
• Dredging / Air lifting
• Tying underwater rebar, install rebar mats for tremie plug
• Installation of water stop injection tubing around perimeter of shaft prior to installation of tremie plug
• Underwater video inspection of flooded shafts and tunnels
• Sonar inspection of flooded shafts and tunnels
• Pressure grouting, concrete placement
• Concrete demolition
• Erection of structural steel
• Drilling and blasting overburden
Mixed Gas / Saturation Mode Interventions & Preparedness:
NUC will establish protocols, equipment and personnel for saturation or mixed gas interventions. There are several options that are available to our clients. Mixed gas systems are owned by NUC and supplied to the job site for relatively low cost for inspection interventions at high pressures. Saturation diving mode can be performed to provide long duration working interventions at high pressures.
Training Services:
Whether it's providing training and orientation to Primes Miners/CAW's for the work up to 4 bar or training NUC in-house saturation divers on the on-site system, we have the qualifications to develop the appropriate curriculums and provide the required training.
Specialty Equipment:
NUC can provide specialized equipment related to air, mixed gas and saturation diving operations that the system manufacturer may not provide such as tankage, masks, umbilicals, video systems, robotic manipulators, sensor, etc. Other equipment may include:
• Hydraulic tools for breaking rock and sediment removal
• Hyperbaric welding equipment
• Rail mounted Grade D Breathing air compressor packages
• Med locks that meet WISHA, OSHA and other regulatory requirements
• Special Decompression Chambers
• Shuttles w/ locks
• Saturation Diving Systems
• Emergency evacuation hyperbaric modules
• Communications
• High Resolution Video (used for non-pressurized supervision of CAW operations)
• Mixed gas integration into the TBM system
• Air, Oxygen and Mixed Gas Inventories |
